School Day Volunteers

Organize party volunteers. Email, call or text party volunteers with reminders. Request unfilled classroom needs to parents.

Copies, filing and bulletin boards. As needed

Assist with book sales – cashier. Book Fairs are held 1-2 times per year. Time commitment is 2-4 hours per Book Fair day. You may choose to work one or more Book Fairs.

Help teacher with special tasks such as: making copies, bulletin boards, and Friday folders. This is NOT for classroom parties. Approx. 1 hour weekly.*Not every teacher will need a classroom helper.

We only have 1 librarian for 5 schools elementary. We need help every day so students can check out books each week and help get books back on the shelves, take inventory of books, decorate bulletin boards, and help with reading contests. You can contact Jan Stevenson to volunteer in the Library. Any day of the week for 1-3 hours, morning or afternoon.

Our first graders need reading practice, and reading with an adult is great practice to help guide them through difficult words. If you are interested in helping contact Stacey Harig at sharig@jpsonline.org

As a little nice Friday fun, we serve popcorn once a month for students, and some students will receive a couple students receive a special prize inside. Typically volunteer time is 2-3 hours Friday morning.

The Cat Cash store is a mini traveling store that has prizes for our students to encourage success. Teachers give Cat Cash as a reward for great behavior. We need volunteers to help encourage children to make decisions for what they would like to purchase with their cat cash. Typical volunteer time is either 1-2 hours in the morning or afternoon.
